Collaborations
Since 2019, I have collaborated with visual artist Martha Sakellariou on projects exploring the tensions and contradictions of domesticity and motherhood. Our work is interdisciplinary and community-based, sustaining a dialogue between the artist and the audience.
Eating is individual and social. Feeding is an act of generosity and expression of love, but it is also a burden. “23 Stories for Plat du Jour,” explores these contradictions. The text was printed in an edible book and incorporated into textiles such as napkins and aprons.
Through extensive interviews and documentation, “The Cubberley Project” examined the complex, dynamic Cubberley Community Center, both in its current form and in historical memory.
Home is a place of safety and a cage. An idea and a specific place/architecture. “One Home Only” explored the ways in which these contradictions were heightened and highlighted during the pandemic.
